Field Day Rescheduled

Field Day will be Monday, May 21st. Grades K-3 – Outside – 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Grades 4-6 – Outside – 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Please make sure your child is dressed for outdoor activities. Also make sure they have water and put sunscreen on in the morning. Students will also be having shaved ice on Friday, May 18th.

Tdap Immunization Clinic @ PES March 27th

Is your child a rising 6th grader in KGCS? The state of VA requires students entering 6th grade to have had the Tdap shot before the first day of school August 13, 2018. The King George Health Department will provide the required Tdap booster shot free of charge at each elementary school. A consent form must be completed for your child to receive the immunization. Kindergarten Registration Day

Image result for frog clip artKing George County Schools Kindergarten Registration Day Friday, March 23 @ 9:30 am. If your child turns 5 by September 30, it's time to sign up for kindergarten. Parents/guardians and rising kindergarten students are invited to visit their local elementary school at 9:30 am to participate in kindergarten transition activities and register their child for the 2018-2019 school year. Tuesday, February 27th- Fox in Sox Day- Wear crazy socks!
Wednesday, February 28th- Oh, The Places You'll Go! Day- Wear your favorite college spirit wear or career wear.
Thursday, March 1st- Horton Hears A Who Day- Complete a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) towards others (this is also SPRING Picture day)!
Friday, March 2nd- The Cat In The Hat Day- Dress up as your favorite storybook character.

Wizards Basketball game Wednesday, Feb. 7th @ KGMS

Image result for harlem wizardsCome cheer on our wonderful principal, Mrs. Harris, at the Harlem Wizards Basketball game Wednesday, Feb. 7th at 7pm in the Middle School gym! The Middle School PTA is having a fundraiser basketball game featuring the Harlem Wizards playing against a team made up of faculty and staff from the county schools.  Dr. Benson, our KGCS superintendent will be the referee.  Doors open at 6pm and dinner will be available starting at that time from the PTA concessions stand in the cafeteria (hot dogs, pizza, chips, and drinks).   
Attached is a Ticket Order Form for the game.  We have paper tickets available, and if you purchase directly through us at Potomac, you will save the 99 cent online surcharge.  Please note, you can only purchase Student or Senior ($12) and General Admission ($15) paper tickets from us; if you would like the Reserved or Courtside Plus seats, you can visit this link:
If you wait until game night to buy tickets at the door, prices will increase by $3 each.
You can print out the attached form and send it in to the school with payment, cash or check payable to KGMS PTA, through February 5th.  Just mark the envelope “Harlem Wizards game, PTA.”

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Fund Raiser

The PES leadership club is raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Your child will be bring home a box to collect donations. You can also donate using this link if you would like http://events.lls.org/pages/va/PotomacElementarySchool-2018. Please help PES raise money for this good cause. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Series campaign is working with thousands of schools across the country to raise funds for blood cancer research. They are saving lives of blood cancer patients not Someday but, Today.
